View Full Version : Naming questions
I have a new name for my website I am contemplating on, it's something I have used on a couple "independent movie's" I have done. The name I used was "Mythical Figure Productions" even though I am not a production company or entity of any sort other than an independant. Such as Short Media, I don't think it's an actual buisness, but more of a name given to an "entity" or presence on the web.
That's what I am trying to do.
For the past several weeks, even months, I have been working hard to come up with a design for my own website which has been like this (http://www.fusion-dm.net) for months now. Today I realized I should take a new route, and new name. I even have a good idea for the design and layout now of my new site.
However the name just isn't "right". To simply call a site, a portfolio site, "Mythical Figure" doesn't fit. I wonder if there is perhaps another word I can add such as Mythical Figure Media(but that too doesn't fit to me), to help out.
Maybe I am just making this a bigger deal than it needs to be, but I am not starting a new forums(Mythical Figure Forums), or anything specific. But I would like to have a gallery of things I have done, or am making, tutorials, a portfolio type site with alot of features in it including the league I am working on for Rome Total War.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I don't think the name "Mythical Figure" would be that good actually. How about "Digital revolution" like in your sig or something like that?

I actually like the name fusion digital media..... :-/
Actually, SM is a business (a "limited liability corporation").
It has it's own business bank account and everything.
First off- VERY cool pic...
May I suggest:
"Mythical Figure Musings"
"Mythical Figure New Horizons"
"Mythical Figure's Netherworld"
Mythical Figure tribute to Catherine Bell" ooops sorry I am mixing two posts LOL

I kinda forgot about DFXR, but I also am having a bit of a hard time coming up with a site design I like that isn't so technoish like ALL the other sites out, which is kind of why I recently thought of the Mythical Figure one... which I could create a nice mythical look and feel to the site

I don't like using less than original stuff.. I googled Fusion Digital Media and it came up with a few results. I like it too though  But if I use something like that I think I will go for the DFXR one in my sig.

I am just kind of tired of the usual tech/futuristic styles that EVERYONE seems to employ in their "hey look at this nifty site" look, like 2advanced.com which I have seen so many times in examples and crap. Yeah that site is the epitimy of hard work I would say, but it really isn't all that great nor is it any longer "original".
Any opinions or any comments... greatly welcomed of course  I sometimes need a push in the right direction so I don't go too overboard.
Transcendent Productions.
Or hell, go with a single name.
Idiosyncracy.
Nonpareil Films.
/me shrugs
I'm not looking for a new name, but a way of making "Mythical Figure" sound right when used as a webpresence. Thanks though ;) I suppose I didn't explain it well enough

Well what do you mean by "mythical figure" - where/why did you come up with that?
I guess I really don't understand the question. How do you make "Mythical Figure" fit? You just.. use it.
Why do they use Infineon? Or DoCoMo? Or NTT? Because someone decided it'd be a good name. Hell, some of the Hollywood-used indie studios have crazy names, but they still have a presence.
