The BoSox? Win?
Ever since me and you stopped our fighting I find myself nodding moreso at things you say. The Yanks have them beat mentally

LOL ;D
You know what, I am obviously biased...but, realistically speaking, the Yankees just don't have the pitching to defeat Boston, I mean, next week will tell the tale, but El Duque is New York's only real "good" pitcher, everybody has been recently trying to rally behind Lieber, but face it, he's had a couple good outings, he's just not that ace NY fans want to portray him as. And as for the brilliant Kevin Brown.... no more to say about that, Boston chased him away in 2/3 of an inning during his last outing vs the Sox.
Yankees defeated, but had some trouble with the Twins and they're nowhere near as good a ballclub as Boston, and Mariano Rivera is no longer the secret weapon for New York, he had 5 blown saves on the season...3 of them were to Boston. I could be eating my hat in a week, but, I just don't think the Yankees have what it takes to take down Boston this year.
Schilling is incredible, nobody on the Yankees pitching staff can even compare, and that's not just my Red Sox fan rhetoric, the stats show that one, Pedro pitched an amazing game vs. Anaheim, and Bronson Arroyo pitched 2 runs over 6 innings (one of the runners was a walk that was inherited by Timlin), and with the lineup we assume it will be Schilling/Pedro/Arroyo/Wakefield/Schilling. So, short of a sweep, which realistically just isn't going to happen with these two teams playing, NY is going to see Schilling twice. I say Boston in 6, but won't be surprised if it goes to 7.

Why join in on a thread that specifically addresses a matchup between the Red Sox and Yankees to say that baseball is teh suck and then go on to talk about Football?? Start a new thread and don't crap on other people's topics.

I knew ud come in here sooner or later Camman! The twins starting pitching is better than the pitching of the yanks by far BUT the tanks did what they had to do which was keep it close for the first 5 innings and wear the starter down in 5
I'll admit to slight bias, ie, voting with my heart rather than my head - so Boston it is. Cam, I agree Boston has by far the better starting pitching (tho you left out Moose, no slouch) but the Bronx Bombers are doing their thing this year and just keep coming and coming. Something like 60 come from behind wins this year? Ridiculous but shows that no bullpen is safe - and Boston's pen isn't quite as strong as it's been some other recent years. So it's gonna be tight but I think the Bosox will prevail.
I notice you didn't mention Lowe - they gonna throw him from the pen I assume?
Hey, all you overcompensating football pansies, go find yer own thread!!@! :D

Oh yeah, you're right, I forgot about Mussina, he's pretty good too, I'll give them that. Yeah, Lowe is pitching out of the bullpen, he pitched in the 10th and 11th innings of their walk-off ALDS win the other night.

Cant forget brown yes he is hot headed but he pitched good in game 3
Camman
10 Oct 2004, 6:49pm
I honestly don't think that Brown is going to be able to do it against the Red Sox, I did hear he pitched good on his last outing, what game is it predicted that he'll be starting?
It's going to be an exciting series for sure, lots of drama I'm sure.

I just want to see the Red Sox win and continue to win so I never have to hear about the curse again.

I hope I'm wrong, but Boston can implode against anyone the Yankees put on the mound.

Any team can 'implode' against any pitcher, but even Yankees fans admit that Boston has better starting pitching, it's going to be a tough series either way but if we're going to talk about anyone 'imploding', we can take a look at Kevin Brown's (former Yankee 'star pitcher' before punching a wall) last outing against the sox...chased away in 2/3rds of an inning? That's one hell of an 'implosion' if I've ever seen one.

No arguments from me, I want Boston to win and I completely agree about their pitching staff. What worries me is that they may blow it before the pitching staff can win the world series for them.

I voted for the red sox simply cause there was another option than the yankees. Maybe they'll get shut down for the second time in two years? ;D I honestly have no clue. I haven't been keeping up on this.
Since the marlins aren't involved I haven't payed a minute of attention to this... Anyone mind telling me where things are now? How many games played? wins - losses? etc??
Sorry for all the questions...

Eh Pedro....... Who's Your DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
Camman
14 Oct 2004, 6:03am
actually Pedro had a good outing....if you want to blame somebody, blame the Boston offense for not getting the job done...but then again you're just another mindless NYY fan who can't even be creative enough to come up with your own trash talk slogans
Gr8:
Red Sox beat Angels, NYY beat Twins. NYY now lead BoSox 2-0
Astros beat Braves, Cards beat Dodgers. Cards now lead Astros 1-0.
BoSox are in deep doodoo, both their top starters lost. Not over just yet tho. Cards may well sweep the 'Stros, tho I am pulling for Houston and predicted a Hou-Boston World Series.

Ur just mad cause pedro wasnt as good as Lieber
Camman
14 Oct 2004, 7:09pm
I didnt say Lieber had a bad game, he had a great game and yes it was better than Pedro's, but you have to admit they both pitched good quality starts and Boston's offense just couldnt get it done, it's not Pedro's job to put runs on the board.
GnomeWizardd
14 Oct 2004, 8:15pm
nope its his job to NOT let runs on the board
Camman
14 Oct 2004, 8:27pm
dude seriously, what the hell is your problem, I said Mussina had a good start, I said Lieber had a good start, I'll say when a team has had a good game, you just WANT to start an argument, get over yourself and just file in with the rest of your bandwagon Yankees fans, I'm done with this thread, seeya.
