Check out the attached pic from the local Best Buy ad. The system they're showing playing Doom 3 in the middle of the page is listed in the top left hand corner. The caption next to that pic says "We'll equip you for action with the right PC. This powerful gaming machine has 512MB of memory and an open AGP slot."

And they show it playing Doom 3. Isn't that false advertising?

False Advertising... NO. Misleading, YES!!! If they would have listed that it was capable of playing DOOM3 right out of the box, then that would be false advertising. They are showing you the possibilities of the system. It is no different than showing a nice BMW doing a bunch of stunts and show the starting price of $35,000. The car they show and the price they show are not the same. Base model and the tested version maybe different.

I complain every time auto companies definition of "Base model"... Manual transmission, manual windows, and locks... am/fm stereo with two speakers, no cruise control, no rear defrost, no head lights, no tires, no doors, and just a metal bar stool for the seat.

I agree though... The ad is misleading.
