If you get a heatsink like zalmon etc, you dont even need a fan on it. Should do fine passive. Or try to cut a stock amd cooler so that it fits and use either Artic epoxy or AS3/zipties to keep it stuck.

*sigh* what did i do wrong...
i modded the xp fan (from a 2600+) and i put it on the northbridge of the kt7a-raid...for sum reason the system temp got higher by 3 degrees AND my system wont boot up properly...i put the retail crappola back on...and it works like a charm...could the screws on the bottom of the heatsink have anything to do with the heat problem??

The base could be thicker and it isn't dissipating fast enough.

but its made to dissipate heat from a AMD chip...which has a much smaller transfer area than the northbridge chip...and that dissipates it fine...

I may be wrong but I would guess a CPU can hold more heat.
