That log looks like it's missing something. Scan again and post the whole log.

not missing anything, i copy and pasted exactly what it showed me....but i haven't had any problems sense my bro clicked the link, he might not have saved the file to the hd, he might have pressed "open" instead of "save"...........would that cause something different to happen?

I'm not sure, as I have never experienced the virus myself (I don't even have AIM). There is nothing related to bestfriends.scr in that log, but you do have a bit of other stuff:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\windows\SYSTEM\blank.htm
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: LBBHO - {EFD84954-6B46-42f4-81F3-94CE9A77052D} - C:\WINDOWS\lbbho.dll

Fix those entries then find and delete lbbho.dll, reboot and post a new log.

Also, are you having any symptoms of bestfriends.scr (AIM randomly signing in, changed away messages, etc)?

no symptoms, but what do you mean by fixing those entries (sorry, im highly computer illterate......well, not really illterate, just don't know much of what to do to fix stuff myself all that well)

Click the little boxes next to them (so there are check marks) in HJT and then click "Fix"

Hey I just got done telling this to some other people: I found a place that has a removal tool and a manual removal method. They ask for a one dollar donation but its worth it to get access to the removal tool and manual method. Go to http://www.chirointernet.com/needfiles/aimbestfriendsvirus.htm
