Overclocked XP2500+ question(s).

Sally overclocked the AMD XP2500+ yesterday.

System gives the appearance of running stable. Though folding is now a lot faster, we are getting "file_IO error", "early_unit_end" and "bad work unit".
Since folding does not want to finish a WU, Sally just removed -forceASM, hoping this may assist.

Is this possibly caused by the overclocking done?

Started @1830Mhz stock. Now running @2370Mhz.
Used these settings in the Bios
FSB = 215
Vcore = 1.75
CL = 8.3.3.3.
2x512M PC3200 ram
NF7-S ver2.0 mobo
SmartfanII on stock HS with 60-80mm adapter

CPU temp 49c (Bios)
Case temp 29c (Bios)

Any thoughts or suggestions. Did she do ok? Bearing in mind her age and this being her first ever overclock, i'm pretty stoked. :D

Most likely it's due to the OC, yes. I'd either back it off or bump the vcore up.

Put the clockspeed at 10.5 x 215. Leave the vcore be.

Yeah, do what Thrax said or just back the fsb speed down a few MHz and see how it folds. It sounds like you have it overclocked just a little bit too far at that vcore and are probably getting real close to the max overclock of the proc. Using the stock heatsink even with the smarfan2 is pushing it on cooling. You could probably stabilize it with better cooling and a little more vocre at 2370 but not with your present setup.

Right guys.............as Sally had removed -forceASM from the settings prior to getting further advise, we decided to see if it might make a difference.

It did. First WU straight through, no problems. We'll see how it is by morning. Should further tweaking be required, we shall take you guys up on the advise.
