Hi, after reading the thread about 'How to make animated Avators', I was just looking through my computer when I found Ulead GIF Animator v5 but I don't know how to use it since i'v never used Photoshop programmes before.

Has anyone use this and how can I make a Animation?

Do I a series of pictures? Do I need to input commands?

Thanks :)

Ulead Gif animator takes a series of pictures that you create in sequence, lumps them together and then outputs them as an optomized GIF. Basically, you can use any program you please to make the series of images. For example, I make three individual images and save them as Smile_1, Smile_2, and Smile_3.

The first one looks like this :-|

The second one looks like this :-)

The last one looks like this :-D

When I lump them together via any animation program, it'll go from :-| to :-) to :-D very quickly. Then you simply save it as a .GIF with Ulead.

So, what do you want to animate?

umm, let me think about that.

If I animated 2-3 pics, do they have to be a certain amount of pixels?

Thanks

Nope. You can make it as big or as small as you want!

I've made 1600x1200 GIF animations just to annoy people and hog their bandwidth. Your only technical limitation is how fast you want the image to load, and if the purpose for the picture has any restrictions.

For example, Short-Media's avatar system allows a maximum pixel size of 100 x 100 up to 68.4KB. But you have to consider the 56k people who can pretty much only download 1 avatar a second.
