this is a strange question. i've got a friend with a visiontek gf4 ti4600, which although he never realized this until now is screwed up. he just assumed it was something else in his old computer he has since moved it out of. visiontek has a lifetime warranty, but the problem is they require a proof of purchase (receipt or upc) in order to rma a card. well it's been over a year since he bought it and he didn't keep the box and doesn't have the receipt either, so he is screwed. all they want is a copy of a upc apparently, though, so if anyone out there has a visiontek gf4 ti4600 box, could you please scan the upc and email it to me

Out of curiosity, what's the problem he's having with the card?
crashes in warcraft. i haven't really taken enough time to make sure that's the problem, and he's pretty much fed up, so he just wants to rma it. i might be able to help him fix it though. it could just be a software problem. it's had the same problem in two different systems, each with the latest nvidia drivers and older ones didn't work either.
if you've got any ideas, lemme know.
Found this receipt. Might be helpful. Might not be. :)
simguy, you are the man
he can always say he moved from kansas, mo or that he just bought it there on a trip.
did you ever have the problem i described with your? maybe this is a fixable software problem rather than a hardware flaw.
Does it only crash in WC3? What about other DX games? OGL games?
What type of system? OS?
Installed latest chipset & video drivers and DirectX version?
Is the card O/C'd at all? Have any cooling modifications been made to the card?
i think it only crashes in wc3, but i'll have to make sure on that.
it's a shuttle sn45g with an athlon mp 1800+ running xp pro sp1
latest chipset drivers or very close to it are installed for the nforce, although the same exact problem happened on a p4 system this card previously inhabited. latest video drivers and dx version, yes.
not oc'd at all and no cooling modifications.
Is he running a "legit" copy of WC3 by chance?
