View Full Version : Task Manager Problem. Can you help?

Every time I hit ctrl alt delete it pops up but when I go to click on something or even move my mouse it disappears. Also, I can't for the life of me understand why all the options at the top of the task manager in the other task manager thread are not in this one.

lol this happened to me once and I got scared. Simply Double-Click on an empty space at the top and the menu's should reappear.

This happened not once but twice to me and I believe it turned out to be a virus. Try this out. :eek: http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14915

Tried it and it didn't work. I think it is a virus. I looked at tweakxp.com and they said to reinstall it, ill give it a try.

The item "xlrpex.exe" does not return any hits when googled. This is extremely unusual. When tracking down spyware, viruses, and trojans one of the things you want to check are any unidentifiable processes.

Lots of viruses screw up Task Manager in order to prevent you from stopping the virus process. Are your virus defintions up to date? If so, try running a deep scan in Safe Mode.
