:confused: hi, i followed your instructions to get rid of the virus itself, but that didn't fix the problem with my internet. i'm getting this annoying bar that comes down from the adress bar that says that it's preventing me from opening active content, so i can't log into my email. i tried to restore my system to before i got the virus a couple times, but each time when the computer would restart it would say that it couldn't restore to that time and nothing had been changed. i really need to get to my email, so if there is anything that i can do to reset these settings please let me know. I'm guessing you have Windows XP with SP2. That is a new "function". Please post a HiJackThis log and we'll take a look.
hey, thanks for replying. yeah i do have sp2. i had bestfriends.scr and i deleted the file, but there is still an execute line in the code. i don't know how to get rid of this, but it shouldn't be a problem becuase the file dosn't exist. if i need to get rid of the line in the code i will need instructions on how to do so. here is my hjt code. if you could please help me get rid of these annoying blocks...i need to get to my email. thankyou in advance.

Boot into Safe Mode (press F8 at the BIOS screen when booting) and do the following
