Maxtor announced today the availability of the new members of its Atlas enterprise hard drives. The Atlas 10K V and Atlas 15K II are designed to a 1.4 million hour MTTF (mean time to failure) reliability rating, the company said.
The Atlas 10K V drive comes with capacities of 73, 147 and 300GB and a 10,000 RPM rotational speed. The drive offers a maximum sustained transfer rate of 89 MByte per second and average seek times of 4.0 ms.
The Atlas 15K II drive is available with of 36, 73 and 147GB of space and and a 15,000 RPM rotational speed. The drive offers a maximum sustained transfer rate of 98 MByte per second and average seek times of 3.0 ms.
