Erm, Neo, that about the moat, erm, I wasn't totally honest about that.

It's just a six inch deep trench around his house filled with rain water.
Have fun guys.

Shorty, please take along a proper kettle, teapot, some tealeaves, a tea strainer and the little dish that you put the strainer on when it has done its job.
A little dish of sugar cubes and the tongs with which to place the cubes in the cup.
A bone china cup and saucer, none of your pottery mug tat, a nice little milk jug and a silver spoon to finish it off. :)
I'm afraid that Bothered has drifted away from proper tea making as evidenced in another thread " chuck a tea bag in a cup" and has become seduced by the easy route, akin to the difference between DOS and Windows.
You cannot overclock a cup of tea with any great success, the resultant brew is fast but inferior.
I trust that your meeting will be tasteful and harmonious.
Regards
Crypto :D :D :D

Next thing you know they'll be inviting more brits to this site, and we'll have to insert ambiguous "U"'s into various words.... :shakehead

So is this a Manchester Meet? And why has this only just been mentioned? We could have made this a mini S-M (North West UK Branch) meet!
*Press X tries hard to find reason to leave shop and bother Bothered and Shorty in Manchester (assuming it is in Manchester)... struggling to find said excuse...
Have a good time gents

i'm going to be livingin london from jan. 6 to about april 20th, so maybe i'll be able to meet up with some of you europeans.
i'll be in bloomsbury, i think that's what it's called. i know it's a couple blocks from the british meseum. i'll be taking almost no classes, so it should be really easy and i'll be travelling about a lot.
unfortunately, i don't like tea, though, i'm going to try and learn to like it.

Why? It's disgusting stuff, gives me a bellyache. Gimme strong coffee any day :)
Bloomsbury eh? A bit posh and a bit boring, but you is but a short tube ride from the West End, or you could walk it in 20 minutes or so. So what you doing in my neck of the woods then?
Shorty & Bothered - where's this meet take place then eh?
I have only ever met one person from a Forum in real life, we met halfway at Heathrow, I was just selling some stuff to him.

Well......that IS the correct way to spell those words. And it's not just in the Northern Hemisphere you know. ;D ;D
Tell that to the Anglo/Franco-Saxon language.

I would have thought an event like this would have received television coverage. I had the TV on all day waiting for the press conference.

i'm just doing a college semester abroad, and london seemed like a good place to be. my classes should be really easy, so i should have plenty of time to mess around in england and the rest of europe, too.
have a good time, guys :)

And did the mighty short one meet up with our resident bothered?

23 Nov 2004, 10:29pm
He did. It was very nice to meet one SMer in person. He just sat back and let the train take the strain, whizzing him to sunny Manchester. I now need a tee shirt with 'I have taken Tea with Shorty' on it. He may have an anouncement to make but I'll leave that to him.

Id like to take this oppurtunity to say that Mr Bothered Esq is a gentlemen of the highest order :D
It was great to meet the man, the legend. He makes a PERFECT cup of tea. I mean perfect. He was gracious enough to help me get to a job interview from the train station, cool cool guy to talk to :D
Thank you Mr Bothered for all your help yesterday and welcoming me into your home for tea & discussions about games, pc's, technologies and decorating ;D ;D
A real gent.

You're more than welcome Shorty.
And I would like to say that Shorty drinks the perfect cup of Tea like a pro, both the kettle and Tea bag slung in a mug versions. (make a note of that Crypto) :)

Goog good, nice to hear you guys got along so well.
Perhaps another meeting up not too far in the future? I'm sure it could stretch to Necropolis and PressX - a Norther Union??
