FFS!!! It's not even Thanksgiving and I have to sit through eight hours a day of these retreads of crap I have been hearing all my life. Yeah, I liked the Ninja Turtles album when I was a kid but I don't still go around rocking out to "Skipping Stones"!!! AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mean: :rarr: :grr: :bawling:  :zombie: :thumbsdow :eek3: :shakehead :werr: :grumble: :sawed: :mad2:

Yes, I was in Shoppers Drug Mart the other day and they were playing that music. The kicker is all the staff are singing along in all their enthusiasm. I wanted to punch each and every one of them, it's not even December yet!!! :grr:  :grumble:

In one European country, I believe Holland, it is against the law to display Christmas paraphenalia before December 1. Good law, I think.

I'm all with that. What's the deal with running Christmas music during thanksgiving and putting up decorations before Halloween. Christmas has gotten too comercialized.

I love the christmas season.

the music however,, I dont mind a song every now and then. but there are just so many times you can hear about that "Cocaine sniffing red nose reindeer", pulling that fat man in a sleigh, after "decking the halls with balls", right before "dashing thru the snow", running over the "lil drummer boy", and wondering why "grandma got run over by a reindeer", while the whole time whistling, "we wish you a merry christmas".

;D
But I do love the the time of year

I'm ALWAYS sick of Christmas music, no matter what time of year it is. The crap is so unoriginal and ruined by Capitalisim, how could anyone like it?

Is anyone sick of christmas music yet?

Yes. Extremely so. I never knew Holland had that law, I've always said all mention of Christmas should be banned until December 1st. After that it's fair enough.

My first sighting of Christmas came this year from Sainsburys, in a mail circular. September 9th. I think that's a record, actually.

All stores here have Christmas decorations and themes atm. It just shows their marketing people have no imagination whatsoever.

I like Christmas, but only from Dec 20th to the 28th, let's have a little perspective on this thing.

Let the record show that I am not against Christmas as A) a religious holiday, or B)what it has morphed into, a chance for families to rest and rejoice as a slightly more secular holiday. I love to relax, spend time with my family and take time from work. What I have a problem with is the abject capitalism that is destroying the principles behind the holiday. There is absolutely no need to display Christmas goods the day after Halloween. I am no socialist, but the fact that the local malls are so packed you can't get into them in early November makes me wonder what people are doing with their time and their money. No wonder experts say that North Americans my age will never be able to retire. I listen to Christmas tunes in the car, tho.

Too bad Phish never put out a Chrismas CD- that would be the best of both worlds!!!

Since i don't go to stores much working away from home, it has not bothered me too much as yet. We have the decorations going up all over the place as well. Great for the kids.
Best part of christmas music on the radio is the OFF switch when you get sick of it.

Christmas in the northern hemisphere is a bit different due to the climates.

You guys & girls sit in front of a fire, we sit in front of an air conditioner, sweating like billy-o.

On the way to Thanksgiving dinner, I switched the radio over to All Holiday music... I LOVE X-MAS and I love the music. So does my family. We are singing in the car, singing it throughout the house....

Haven't heard any just yet, though we're already putting up some decorations in the front yard.

The original songs are good, in reasonable amounts. I never like to hear the "newer" songs, and parodies and such.
