Being that it was recently the 41st anniversary of the late presidents death, I was wondering how many people actually thought that his death was a conspiracy. One of the other forums I frequent had some interesting arguments sparked by the release of that game JFK:Reloaded, I just wanted to hear what you thought.

Also, assassination should really just say 'Lone Gunman'

The recent (as of last summer) documentaries about his death and the "single bullet theory" appears to hold true. I believe the "lone gunman" story.

I'm surprised by the volume of conspiracy votes; do any of those voters want to state why they voted that way? I've never understood the conspiracy ideology surrounding Kennedy's death, however I've never seen a solid case presented for it either. Do tell?

Anyone who thinks it was a conspiracy is a complete idiot.

Well, now that we've heard from the lone gunman crew, I'd like to hear from someone else ;D

80% of America, according to a Gallup poll, believes that JFK was killed in a conspiracy.

You know those polls are skewed to the side the poll takers want it to be.

The physics of the bullet(s) is a little far fetched for a lone gunman. With all of the ill stuff that has gone on since Eisenhour was president, I feel rather comfortable with the conspiracy theory. It's just an opinion, but it is mine; and 80% of America... ;)

More people may have been behind a bigger picture..... but I believe in the Lone Gunman.

I think that some people just couldn't handle the fact their beloved president had just been murdered by a single man with no political affiliation and with no apparent motive other than he wanted to be noticed and go down in history.

I believe in the Lone Gunman. To back this up I will just refer you to the History Channel's excellent presentation of the Lone Gunman.

I wouldn't be suprised of either one. What I don't get is people just make it seem far fetched that it could've been conspiracy. Yeah, like the Gov't/CIA has never assasined a political figure.

I haven't got a clue. But I'd really like to know.

Knowing America, either option for the poll vote wouldn't surprise me.

Just remember that spooks operate outside the law.

I read a bunch of stuff on his assassination around 15 years ago and there are several things that very well could show connections to a conspiracy, plus the fact that Oswald was using a real POS for a weapon (Italian carcano, which is notoriously poorly made and almost impossible to shoot fast even by expert marksmen). Granted, he wasn't making 1000 yard shots with it but he did supposedly crank out 3 rounds in only 6 or seven seconds, from what I remember. That is hard to do with a good bolt action rifle, much less that carcano. I did see some of that stuff on the assassination on the history channel the other day and that computer dude did make a pretty good case for the single bullet theory with his simulation though.

I think I remember reading that there are some records that are still sealed from all the investigations after the shooting and that they can't be unsealed for 50 or 75 years after the assassination. It will be interesting to see what is released whenever the time limit is up on that material.

Personally, I lean more towards the conspiracy theory myself, but it very well could have been an act by a lone madman (Oswald). :)

The Carcano may have been poorly made, but Oswald was a USMC trained sharpshooter. He most likely trained with the Springfield 1903A4, which would make him familiar in using bolt action rifles. Furthermore, the USMC trains their sharpshooters, or at least they did in the '50s, about enemy weaponry. One of the weapons Oswald would have been shown and familiarized himself with is the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30g, in which the bolt assembly is nearly exactly the same to the Mannlicher-Carcano. It was three shots in eight seconds, the third and final Oswald took extra time on. The same bolt action was demonstrated a few times with a replica rifle by an 80 year old geriatric historian in six seconds, who went through the firing, and aiming procedure that Oswald did.

I beleive it was a Klinton conspiracy from the future so he could be President and they sent an assasin back in time to change the future.

Occam's Razor.

Kind of hard to argue with that ;)
