In order for me to use my CD Recorder on my PC, I have to disconnect my DVD recorder. If I want to create DVD Data Disks, I have to disconnect the CD Recorder.
They both play disks fine when both plugged in, but writing them means turn off the computer, disconnecting one or t'other and booting up again
Any ideas?

Interesting.
Do you have the newest nForce drivers installed?
Do your drives have the newest firmware?
Are both drives on the same cable?
If so, approximately how old is said cable?
Are the drives in DMA mode?
What program are you using to burn?
What occurs when both are plugged in and you try to write?
What operating system are you using?
Have you heard of, or are you using ForceASPI? If no to either, ignore.
What drives are you using?
Is this problem sudden, or is it a longstanding issue?
Did you elect to install the nForce IDE drivers, or did you deny installation?

Problem solved, CD burnt last night with DVD Drive in. Thats all I have tried.
I put the Hard drive on Serial ATA with my convertor. Put the latest firmware for both drives on. Put them both on seperate IDE cables. Hey presto.
Thanks for your time!

just wondering, i got a Samsung DVD +/-RW Dual Layer +/- R burner.
The only info that i can get from it from windows is that it is a Tsst Corp something (im away from my computer for a few days). But i have no idea where to look for a driver for linux becuase linux won't recognize it as a burner.
