can't you just start the game from that "chapter" my HL2 allows me to go back to any chapter I have played before

It doesn't know how far I have played, because it has none of my save data.

I just need the file(s) under "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\steamemail@youremail.com\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE"

How do you keep losing your saves?

I'm "special". o_O

First time, backed up my game files with steam. The backups got corrupted, bugged, IDK. Second time, I successfully backed the files up and restored upon reinstalling windows. Come to find out the backup doesn't save your personal data, just the game data.

I just sent mine in a zip file, but I've a feeling they're from a litle further on in the game than you're up to, but they may help.

It's the second time you have to use your turret guns to stem off a whole bunch of guards coming at you. It's probably the hardest part of the game so far, for me.

I've beat it, and that is the hardest part. It's the only part I had to retry more than twice.
