I can't connect to servers for some reason though. :scratch:
I'm gonna see if I can get a dedicated server up and running for this...there's a problem with servers that have older processors though (players fall through the ground), so I don't know if it'll work out.
Played for about a half hour. F-ing sweet! Looks like there are a ton of low-ping servers, too!
There's something to be said for killing someone via toilet.
wow, that's a lot of fun. i was wondering what they were doing to us without a hldm.

omg I played it for 30 minutes today after school before I had to go to work and OMG it was so much fun, it's great throwing a table at someone and seeing them floparound like a ragdoll then looking behind you and seeing a sink hit you in the face. OMG we need to make a SM sever, I'll donate a few bucks if anyone wants to start one!

Finishing my semester, finishing my Senior Project (Oracle 9.2, forms 6i, analysis & design project), GIS project, comes first though... Just 1.5 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!
I must hold out just a little longer...

Two drunk guys playing catch with a rat.
Another drunk guy shooting marine signal flares from the bow of his boat (rafted up at shooters) over to the east bank of the flats. He was arrested by the coast gaurd. ( go figure )
And while waiting in line to get into "Howl at the Moon" I saw a girl spew over the second floor railing. Vomit spatters pretty far when it falls 25 feet.

Downloaded to two machines , my daughter and I played for an hour or so. Waaay Cool. Now all we need is more maps. I am sure it will be a short wait until the modders have many maps to choose from.
I assign Ben to be on the lookout for DM maps. ( Can I do that ? ) Well I did. Ben seems to be our resident "All over HL " guy. Hope you don't mind Ben :D

It really hasnt been mentioned yet but I found games with a larger player count (10+) to be really cramped and laggy. The sweet spot seems to be around 6 players. You're not constantly being bombarded and have a few seconds to track down a decent weapon. ;)
The MP is great fun and shows a lot of promise but its still a little rough around the edges.. I can't wait till the community jumps behind this and makes it even better. I have a feeling more maps and TDM are just around the corner. :thumbsup:

I have seen some floating about and im going to gather the links and post them here.
You can connect to most server and it will allow you to download the map off the server.
I expect to see alot of maps soon, both from valve and modders.

OMG, I wanna see a Bounce remake. I used to love that map, was so much fun playing a HL-DM lan and trying to fight for the crossbow at the top of the map. So many good times on that map.

yeah, almost every game i have joined had more than 10 people, and my pings were always like 50s or lower.

I think the reason for low ping servers + lots of people + sudden but short lag issues is caused by people trying to run servers on older machines. The same thing happened when UT2K3 was released, and everyone with dedicated UT K62-500 machines thought they could run a decent UT2k3/4 server.
I played on a couple servers with 14+ people last night. I had no problems at all.

Wow, apperently I'm crazy. I jumped on a number of servers and found the lag really noticeable at times in those larger player games. The servers would be showing a 40-60 ping on the list but would skip here and there in midst of heavy phys gun action. Guess. Ill eat my words for now and try again tonite. :p

I dunno how good the connection will be, but go ahead and try to connect to my server...it's got a 1700+ and 512MB of ram. The connection should be sufficient provided that my school's not limiting traffic or anything dumb like that...

The dedicated server tends to segfault every now and then...it'll automatically come back up in about 30s - 1min, so if that happens, just stick around.

Awesome i love this game. I was thinking of hosting a server too, what would be good specs to have to host it? also how many players for a standard comcast broadband internet account. Also any good sites with a very basic guide on setting a server like that up?

about hosting, your comcast internet would probably be not a good idea. the upload is very limited.
