View Full Version : rwaguespack --- Home Search Assistant, Shopping Wizard and Search Extender

Hi, guys. Santa came early and left me a couple annoying programs on my computer that I can't delete. I am sure ya'll are busy with it being so close to Christmas and all but I could really use your help. My laptop has the three following programs on it that I have been unable to remove "Home Search Assistant, Shopping Wizard and Search Extender". I have unsuccessfully tried to remove them with the Windows "add/remove programs" option. I also installed, updated and ran Adware and Spybot. Adware appears to have stopped Search Extender. But neither Adware nor Spybot have stopped and/or deleted all three. Here is my logfile.

Here is my new logfile after I ran an updated aboutbuster (ver. 4.0 ref. list 20) as well. It looks like aboutbuster got it but as you probably expected it came back.

I could not find two of files you asked me to delete (sysom32.dll and d3xh.exe). Also I could not delete three of files (winhpx.exe, d3pf.exe and apppx.exe) you asked me to delete. When I tried to delete them I got a message saying I couldn't delete:access denied. Source file may be in use. Am I doing something wrong? Please tell me what I need to do to delete these files as well. This program is really a pain in the butt. Here is my latest source file. Thanks for your help.

Hi!

Your log is clean. It's good news just before new years :)

As for SpyBot finding CoolWWWSearch, I guess it's safe because I get 6 entries of CoolWWWSearch which it cannot remove. :)

Thank ya'll for all the help at such a busy time of year. One thing ya'll didn't tell me or I didn't know I was suppose to due was to delete files from safe mode. At various times there were files I was unable to delete. Once I figured out to go to safe mode I was able to delete these files. Then things really started getting better fast. Again thanks for all the help and I hope ya'll have a Happy New Year. :)
