i accidently changed the MBR from NTFS to FAT, does anyone know how to change it back to ntfs?

Right click on my computer> manage>storage>diskmanagement then change the partition type there. :) you wont lose any data so theres not much to worrie about :)

You can also do it from the command line:
Convert x: /fs:ntfs
with x: being the drive letter of the drive you want to convert.
converting from a fat to ntfs partiton is just terrible for performance. It uses 512 as the size of the block for ntfs. not 512kb ! I mean half of 1k. It just hammers the sh*t out of the disk doing file i-o.
He said he changed the MBR to fat? Now since you can't convert a ntfs to fat partition maybe he just has something mucked up you guys.
Did he mean he had changed the whole partition to fat?
If he just mucked up the mbr on a ntfs partition we can fix that.
