Gigabit PCI Ethernet Card

I am going to be adding a server to a peer to peer network and the switch I bought will support gigabit speeds. What brand/type of pci gigabit ethernet cards would you recommend? What is the difference between a 32bit pci ethernet card and a 64bit pci ethernet card? Thanks for any suggestions. :D

Dunno about gigabit, wish I hadit. But as for 32bit vs 64bit PCI, you're system needs to have 64bit PCI slots. If you have them, use them. I don't think 32bit PCI has the bandwidth to handle anything more than 133Mbps.

Intel or 3com. Broadcom are not bad. Stay away from the cheap cards. I get much better speed with a higher end 64bit card sitting in a 32bit slot them most 32bit desktop rated cards gives.

You can get server class 64bit cards on ebay all day for 25 to 35 bucks.

I have used tons of differant cards as I usualy have several dual cpu computers with 64bit slots and I have an 8 port SMC switch. I really like the switch a lot. Its the cheapest one I have found that support jumbo frames
