I realize that most of you probably thought I was insane some time ago... I also realize that the furries, my *ahem* addiction to dual cpu systems, and the fact that I recently demonstrated in the "name that car!" thread that I can get the from make, the series, chassis code, a range of possible years of production, the destination market (if the parts were all off one car), and a range of possible models the car in the following pics could be, JUST by looking at these pictures:

Well, I can say with reasonable certainty that I was not insane then. I can also say with reasonable certainty that I AM insane now.

Why? Well, I just bid on (and won) an Apple G4 "Sawtooth" AGP motherboard, a 450MHz PPC G4 CPU, and an Apple-compatible ATi Rage 128 16MB AGP card. All of which means I'll be building a Mac. And I think that's generally a pretty good indicator that one has gone off the deep end, ya? ;D ;D ;D

Now now thrax, just because I have 5 P4s/Xeons, 2 of which are Prescotts, don't really like Abit motherboards, and now have a G4 on the way doesn't mean we can't all be friends... :p ;D

Ok guys, here's a question related to the subject...

I'm planning on turning this thing into a FrankenMac. I'm going to use a modified ATX PS on it, I'm going to use a CPU upgrade card to bump the speed to something between 1GHz and 1.7GHz, possibly with 2 CPUs... the video card will hopefully be a regular 9800 Pro flashed with a mac 9800 Pro BIOS. Hard drives I'm not sure about, but you can be damn sure it won't be anything that ever came in a sawtooth G4. The optical drive(s) will probably be a pioneer cd-rw and maybe a dvd-rw as well. And it most definately will NOT be going in an apple case.

Does that make me more or less insane than just buying it in the first place made me? ;D

No, instead you'll buy one of those PC cases that just LOOK like an Apple case and put it in that, next you'll start shopping for that perfect one button mouse and a trendy looking clear plastic encased LCD monitor... :thumbsup:
