Okay so here is the story. I was checking the fans inside my case and my thumb got in the way of my hs/f. Wel one of the blades went flying off somewhere and from then on, it made a horrible sound, you all know the sound. Well I order a replacement fan from xoxide, I get the wrong fan and have to rma it. The new fan comes in the mail today :D I go to take the screws out of the fan, and one of them gets stripped, :grrrr So I try and try but it gets worse. So my temper gets the best of me and I take the heatsink off and rip the fan off, and well now I have to order a new h/s because I can't mount the fan on it anymore. Which is good in a way because I was using the retail hs/f that came with my 1700+ and the screws werent long enough for my new y.s tech fan. I took some pis for you to all enjoy also ;)

I actually used a broken fan with a missing blade for around a month before i got a new one (yes stupid i know) evil sound it was, not only did my desk vibrate a lot it would have been quieter to drop sheep into a blender next to me.
Regardless to say the second that fan came off the heatsink it too met a fast demise :)

I have been running the system for about a half month now, waiting for the rma to come in, and all. The noise was soo bad, some nights I had to shut it off just to get some sleep. Now my room is all quite because it will be down for a while until I can get a new h/s in. Feels ackward not having the third rug up.

Well when I put together the rig, I was really short on money because of the job I had cutting down hours, and me having bills to pay. So the retail looked really tempting to a poor high school student. And I was building it as my senior project and didn't have much time to save up for a good heatsink because of deadlines. But now that I'm out of high school and new job, I'm saving up money to put together a new main rig that will last me. I'm saying good by to the K7S5A w00t
