View Full Version : Vile registry entries
I went into my registry to the following path:
HK_USERS>DEFAULT>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Internet Settings>ZoneMap>Domain
It was full of vile, suspicious and unfamiliar registry entries. This was on my dedicated folding rig on which I do very little else... very little internet activity also. I have commenced to delete the ones I know were not invited on my machine. There are thousands of them.

Those entries are most likely not malicious. By the looks of the registry key they are under, it appears to be an older version of Spyware Shooter, which uses that key to block all of those malicious sites.
So if I remove those entries then Spyware shooter won't block them then?

No, Spyware Shooter will not work if those entries are removed. They are what stops downloading from those web pages.

Thanks. I did take a quick look back before posting but I didn't see your thread. I didn't know what to think when I first saw that stuff. Glad I had a place to come to find out what it was all about.

We had the same thoughts as yourself. What the.........full of places we had never been to. I can understand some things being picked up through surfing, but on dedicated folding machines?
Glad we found out also. So much to know, so little time, hehehe.
