So in my family room, I have a PC setup with an 802.11g Linksys PCI wireless card. Sometimes, it will never get a signal (the PC is about 15 ft away from the router and one wall in the way). When I reboot the PC, the signal's fine.

It's not a big deal, but I'd like to know if you guys have any solutions to keep that signal strong.

As for interference, I can't think of any. There's one cordless phone about 5-10 ft from the family PC, that's about it.

It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue since the reboot regains the signal. How long does the signal stay strong? It could be an issue with XP Zero Config.

The signal usually goes at 24 Mbps with a good to excellent strength.

when does it normally die?

Any microwave ovens nearby?

Do you both have a modem and a router/switch or is it all built in?

It dies when the WinXP boots. In other words, it either works or it doesn't (and, the good thing is that it only dies on about 1 out of every 15 boots and rebooting the system usually fixes the problem).

It's an all-in-one wireless router (Linksys WRT54G).
