i am running on xp and put in an ME i typed fdisk and deleted something.then i type format C: and hang when i take out my ME cd they put missing operating system. i want to get my com from XP to ME. plz some1 help me

I don't understand your problem. When you "put in an ME" you put in a Windows ME startup disk, or the CD? You may have messed something up when you messed with fdisk... if you don't know what you're doing.

It hangs when you format c:? If Windows XP is still on the computer I don't think it will let you downgrade to Windows ME. You'll have to format your hard drive and it sounds like you're having problems there.

Out of curiosity, WHY do you want Windows ME over XP? :confused:

1st i put in a Melinium edition bootable cd.2nd my com can't handle xp as it is too lag. 3rd when i put in the ME boot cd and try to install and when i type format C: it writes 0% and it stopz

After you deleted the partition, did you create a new one?
