Thank goodness for the internet, Im sitting at home right now, with the only 2 ways of getting out of this area completely closed off by mudslides and torrential flooding.. I cant get to the really bad areas to take pics because they have police blocking the roads but heres a few snaps from round the neighbourhood:

1 - My street, normally a nice little suburban drive...

2 - which is nothing compared my friend jims drive...

if you look up the hill there you'll see a yellow barrier, I know 3 people that live up there, and one off to the side... the one off to the side had to leave because their entire house is filled with mud, and the ones up the hill are being asked to evacuate because their houses just might slide right off the hill...

3 - Towards the freeway, before we were turned back....

... and coming back another shot

nothing compared to the other disasters going on at the moment, but definitely a notch up for Southern California.... ill try to take some more later if the police will let me by, or maybe ill try walking if the muds not too deep later ...

The government should ban erosion.

Damn that area needs some more trees.

Our area got hit with almost 20" of snow right before Christmas and then 2 weeks later freezing rain that took out power for most of my hometown. That looks so much worse tho.

Wow......sunny california indeed. Is this type of weather normal, just excessive this time?

It appears all around the world the weather patterns are changing somewhat. Hope you guys are alright.

The government should ban erosion.

Our government would tax it.

luckily i live on a hill that has been almost completely covered in concrete, so I do not have to deal with mud.

Although my sister's father in law got stuck in a mud slide driving home on Bouquet Canyon which some of you native California people probably know what is, and he had to climb to the top of his car and get air lifted out by a helicopter. ;D

Crazy weather indeed. It has snowed two times where I live this year, it hasn't snowed here for about 10 years if I remember right. I live in the damn Mojave desert by the way. Allthough at the moment it makes no sense calling it that seeing as everything is green and soaking wet from a week straight of non stop showers.

I also hear the LA river is a class IV rapid! ;D

Hot Mondi called me up tonight to let me know he was okay. He said it's not TOO bad where he's at, at least no one around him has experienced any tragedy. Let's hope it stays that way :(

It's very, very muddy in his neighborhood.

We wish you the best, brotha mondi. You need to get outta dodge man.... With the fires last year, the mud this year, and who knows what else coming up..... :(

He could move to Detroit :D .. he's practically a resident there for a quarter of the year ;D

I echo your sentiment though Brian, stay safe out there Mr Mondi :)
