hi, and thank you for reading my post.
I am running windows xp.
I am having problems with my documents. I ran hijack this and must have done something because now i cannot read any of my documents. :( Here is what they look like: ex.
~$ternational Commerce -should say International Commerce
~$ould Student Athletes be Paid -should say Should Student Athletes be paid.
I tried reinstalling Windows Word, but nothing helped. Each and Every document now only shows me: Preferred Customer □□□□□ P □r □e □f □e □r □r □e□ d□ C□ u□ s □t□ o□ m□ e □r
Where the heck did preferred customer come from? A file conversion menu comes up when i try to open one, and it says Windows Default, MS DOS, and Other Encoding. Other encoding is checked. When i check Windows default alot of little boxes show up instead of the words Preferred customer.
Thank you!
Toxic

Did you check for a virus?

I just ran a virus check with norton 2005. I ran adaware and i restored the 2 things i deleted from my Hijackthis backup. I rebooted.... When i tried to reinstall the Word disc, i got this error:
Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database; ODBC Error 6: Component not found in the registry. Verify that the file MS Access Database files exists and you can access it.
I looked it up on google and found a few things, but cannot figure it out!
thanks

ok! I tried to reinstall my Microsoft Word, when the error came up, i had 3 choices,
Cancel, retry, and ignore. One website said to click ignore, i did, and it fixed the problem. Dunno what caused it! Thanks :D
