View Full Version : Problem with Radeon 9100

Hi, I got a Radeon 9100 128MB PCI card a few months ago as a gift. At the time when I installed it, the graphics and performance was no different than the video card my computer came with. I dunno if the card sucks, my computer sucks, or the settings aren't right. I was playing Counter-Strike last night (after not playing it for months) and it still looked pixelated, no anti-aliasing, and ran at an average 15 fps. I was frustrated with the graphics, so I reinstalled the ATI software with the Installation CD to see if that would fix things, but now everytime I try to open Counter-Strike, my computer reboots. So now I have two problems :( . I don't know what specs you need to know, so please reply!

There is no radeon 9100 cards

theres a onboard 9100 on some ati motherboards
theres a 9000 and theres a 9200/pro/se
get the latest offical drivers

sounds like a lack of power if the computers rebooting tho :confused: .
how many wats is the power supply and what brand ?.

Yes there is a 9100 AGP card. I have one in my system.

as GrayFox said, There are some on board ones. Did you COMPLETLEY uninstall EVERYTHING for your last video card? Are you sure its a 9100 that you got as a gift?

I don't know what spazn has but I can reassure you mine is not on the motherboard.

My card fits in the AGP slot on the motherboard.

Ok, sorry for the confusion. It's VisionTek. I have this, but PCI:

As for the power supply, it says 115. How do I find the brand? Sorry for not being a big help. I don't know a whole lot about computers, so treat me like a retard :p . I don't think it's a lack of power though because Counter-Strike loaded fine until I inserted the Install CD and went through the prompts (though it was already installed).

Ok, I fixed the problem. I disabled the onboard VGA in the device manager and in that blue screen you get by hitting Del while booting up the computer.
