Since i'm not into gaming as such, this card will be more than sufficient, i'm sure. PSU is 500W.

Also got a UV light and UV round cables. The new "Pride of the Fl33t" :D

How are you going to get that bunch of goodies up to the mine site?

Methinks Sally will be playing with your toys whilst you are away. :D :D

Great team, Sally and Jon

Cheers

Yay!

As i said, i have that DFI in the mail. i contacted one of the local stores here to see if they had a pair of 6600GT's. They kinda had...one was without the box etc, but the other is completely retail. They said i could buy one of the cards and borrow the other! On top of that, they'll open a Asus SLI box to give me the bridge as well!
Man, having good and close relations with the local shops really pays off sometimes!

Shwaip, i'm flattered even if it's only the ram you want, hehehe. ;D

Chris, yes, Sally has a sister. You want her, you can have her.
You know the phrase: "If you can't say anything nice you should not say anything at all" ..........well............i'll not say anything about lynette. :D

Ok guys. Worked all night and got it all together. Took my time about it as i really only wanted to do it once. Looking good. I'll get some pics a bit later. Sally is setting it up now. She did boot up first time. :)

XP pro has been loaded, drivers going on now. Had a hiccup trying to put the OS on. Dfi-Street has posts with the same problem so was easy to sort.

No doubt there will be a thread started in overclocking in the near future as a few people will have the same type board/ram. Should be an interesting time ahead. Don't know if we will be able to have a go as i have to fly back to work on tuesday. :(
Knowing Sally, she'll not be able to help herself and have a go anyway. :D

Mack

I don't think an Asus bridge would work as the spacing is different (DFI has 1 slot between and Asus has 2 slots between) and a bridge is rigid. You may want to check on an MSI bridge as it has a similar spacing to the DFI. I just got my DFI board and already have the ram and CPU. So all I need is a vid card, which I will likely pick up today when I go to town for my 2 74GB Raptors which are on sale. :)

larry, i agree. It shouldn't work. The bridge is a bit longer but i bended the cards a little so it fits. Looks fugly as hell. The cards look like a V if you look at the rig from behind. Wouldn't fit in a case this way though but i have a proper bridge on its way.

Whats the price on those raptors?

They were $189.00 plus a $40.00 rebate. They were out and no rainchecks. :bawling:
