Ok I have an Epox 8K7A+ that I have had some weird problems with. Sometimes it will get to the black screen with a cursor on top left and stop. And it locks up alot. I thought it was because of a bad hard drive but tonight I noticed that three of the capacitors are kind of bulging looking.
Now I have never had any trouble with bad capacitors before so I was wondering what to do. Are the caps definately junk? Can I just solder in new ones? or should I get a new mobo??

:D  I have no idea. I probably bought it from newegg but I have had it for a long long time so I doubt that it has a warranty left.

LOL ...you don't know where you bought it really?

Well if it's that old try Epox ...I know Abit's class action is settling with customers right now about the same issue. Try Epox and see if they'll repair or replace it.

I will try to email Epox and see what they say.

If you did order it from newegg, you can check your purchase history by going to "order status" at the bottom of newegg's homepage. Then logg in with your email and pass and then click the link "Click Here for your completed order history"

I have some orders dating back to early 2003. It might still be there...

Wow that is pretty cool. Looks like I ordered it back on 9/18/2001. I doubt that I will get any kind of warranty work done on it then. :D Well I guess I shouldn't complain. Three and a half years isn't too bad to get out of a mobo.

Try Epox, they know about the problems and they may still RMA it. Its worth a shot. I don't think I ever told them when I bought my 8RDA and they went right to work on the RMA. All they wanted to know was which caps were bad and after that no questions asked, got a nice new board.
