Nascar is going to be on Sirius Satellite Radio in 2007. This is going to be pretty big for Sirius. With the popularity that Nascar is getting now with the chase for the cup and all. Sirius stocks have already seen in the high $9 mark in the past months, and right now down to about $5 and some change. I don't know how many of you do stocks, but I have been watching this one for a month or so now. And with Nascar switching from XM to Sirius, there are some big things coming I think. I'm no expert, but as soon as I get some money I plan to get around 100 shares myself. 2007 is a while away, but I can wait.

DO people actually listen to a race? I don't even understand going to watch, except for the wrecks, but listening to it. Here, do this in your head... vvvvrrrrOOOOmmmmm..... Just repeat that for like five hours and you get the same effect.
On the contrary, I suppose if ther is a market for that kind of thing, probably a smart move grabbing those stocks. Satalite radio is probably a safe move anyway.

Why would you listen to nascar?
"...and they're turning left. Now they're going strait and.. Wait! Whats that? They're turning left? You know, Ted, turning left really shows off the raw skill and talent of these drivers."
"It sure does, Bubba. They say that Dale Jr. spent 27 hours last week in a wind tunnel and that it's really paid off. His crew said the car now turns left better than any of the others, but that in doing so it is slower in the straights. Talk about technological advancements in racing, I think you'll be seeing a lot more turning left in the future."
"Wow Bubba! Thats really amazing..."

Why listen to nascar? Well it is a sport, kind of like football, basketball, you know those type of things. And trust me, you would gain a little more respect for those drivers if you were out on a track going 200mph inches from the car next to you at times, and didn't crap your pants twice.
I'm not a huge Nascar fan, but I do feel this will be a good stock move to make.

I don't care too much for it. My whole family loves it, though. I like the first and last 30 laps. Other than that... meh. Probably will be worth quite a bit, though.
We went to the Brickyard 400 once. First time I was at a NASCAR race. When the first came by, I almost DID crap my pants. I had no idea they were that loud and/or gutteral. The TV just puts it to shame.

I am a diehard nascar fan...
clutch its pointless trying to explain it.. you have to experience it yourself first hand to get it
I have been to around 6 races..and going to talladega again this year in May...I love this sport :D
Looks like I'll be making the move over to Sirius in '07 ;)
Nascar isn't a sport it's a motor sport.

I don't care if you have to lift four hundred pound weights while driving, it's different. That's like track and field isn't the same as your four generic sports (Hockey, football (Both sides of the pond), baseball, basketball)

I am sure pseudonym knows, it has to be mentally tough to be able to hit your spots all the way around the track for several hundred miles. Ive played a Nascar game on my computer and its hard to be smooth and take the correct line around the track for 20 minutes straight. You just lose focus. I cant imagine several hours of that.
What makes them good is not the fact that they can go fast for one lap, its doing it for hours on end.

Marc, it's not just the mental part either. It is physically very demanding too, with their bodies regularly pulling 2+ G's sideways for hours on end. The open wheel cars are even more severe, with them being able to pull 5-6 G's in acceleration, braking and turning. You don't see many fat, beer-swilling race car drivers any more; it's just too physically demanding.
