From Egypt, your ping is pretty much average to the States here. DSL optimization is a joke. You can "Optimize" MTU settings and whatnot, but it rarely means anything.

I don't think there's any software that can help you with that. Sounds like your ISP has a crappy pipe. Do you have other options for ISP?

No, you can't uncap DSL. That's capped at the server's end.

well that sucks as far as isp's this is the only one in the area im in that has dsl they advertise a 256k connection and thats what we got talking to the guy. I did some bandwidth tests and im only getting 50 K so im going to wait another day or so then call them and get something fixed cause this is ****.

Actually, you can cable modems and I think some DSL modems.
It is quite difficult, and illegal, but can be done. It involves snooping the bridged connection between your modem and isp tftp server.

trying visiting www.speedguide.net , it has auto registry tweakers for broadband and other cool stuff

u might not see a MAJOR difference in ur connection speed, but at least u know u maxed it out :D

I wouldn't mess with anything in your modem if you don't want to get caught :)

MTU tweaking got my speed from 465/202 to 515/267Kbps, only 1 extra KB realistically though.
