I just got a GeForce FX 5200 128MB PCI video card, but it seems to run slower than my last card.
My last card was a GeForce 4 MX420 64MB AGP video card.
Could the problem lie in that the first one was agp and the second one is pci?
Counter-Strike: Source - FPS
GeForce 4 MX420: 54 FPS
GeForce FX 5200: 44 FPS (and it goes down to like 20 in fighting...) [the setting are also the same as they were with the other card)
Help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not a very big video card buff or much about them.

You didn't really upgrade. The 5200 series cards are crap and going from AGP to PCI is a major downgrade. The amount of memory means nothing on those cards.

whats your system specs and price range?

uhhh... im kindof a budget-er so what i've got going for system specs is pretty crappy....
2.0 GHz Celeron....
256MB DDR RAM (very soon will be 512MB)
80 GB hard drive
VIA P4x-266 motherboard
my price range is around $40, im kinda looking for anything better than 64 MB and AGP.
hmm, im sure other S-M people can find better deals but i did find this
a ATI Radeon 9000
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-386&depa=0
still 64mb but the speed will be a factor too, not just mb of ram
here is a GeforceFX 5200 AGP version $49.50
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-122-177&depa=0
but the reviews pretty much sum up what madball said =\
thers an ATI 9250 for $48
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-479&depa=0
in not exactly sure what this thing is..
the best bet is to go to newegg,
http://www.newegg.com/app/manufact.asp?catalog=48&DEPA=0
and put a MAX price range, and consult more people on S-M about what card you are interested in, so many people are bound to know some thing about everything :)

the 9250 is a piece of junk
I would keep an eye out for a used 9700 or 9800 pro

As long as somebody doesn't buy out the card right before it goes off, those would be sweet deals.

those first two cards are PAL - not for americans :D
just an FYI, both 9700 pro's from retek(ebay) are PAL standard in case u planned on using the S-Video.
nice name by the way  :)
