Hi, there is any there familiar with products used to keep your lap cool while you have your laptop on it? Something like this? http://www.laptopdesk.net/
I saw in the news something about laptop causing infertility because of the heat. Is this true?
Anyways any products anyone would recommend over others for this?
Thanks
Targus makes a lot of laptop accessories, including little cooling pads. They're available at most OfficeMax locations. You could start there.
And no...they don't cause infertility. If you believe that I won't bother explaining how the body automatically adjusts for heat differences, but you can rest easy...your little guys will be fine.
My last roomate had a Sager that was UBER HOT.... he used a ouija board, it was flat and hard so it allowed the laptop to cool properly without you sweeting your mid section out and looking like you peed your pants after a couple hours ;D

You cut off the air circulation, could kill your lappy.

not neccisarily- on my dell laptop, theres fan vents on the bottom AND through the front. so if its on a pillow, it can still vent through the front.

Just take off your pants and underwear when you have your laptop on your lap. That way the clothes won't cause anymore heat.

Your laptop will melt someday and you will be saying "But there were vents on the bottom AND the front!"
I read this story a couple months ago, this guy checked himself into the ER complaining of burns on his genitals. He was treated for first degree burns, turns out he had been using his laptop on his lap for a couple hours.

his was a MAC
BTW the bottom of the laptop tends to be a heat removal service
that is why they have posts on the bottom, to allow the heat to dissipate to air

Phone NASA and see if they have any shuttle tiles going spare then glue them to the bottom. Obvious really.
