Multimedia audio controller help!

Hi

I was going through my control panel add and remove programs and i deleted somethin that i thought i could, now when i start up i get a warning in the bottom right saying add new harware multimedia audio controller and i get beeps from inside the computer rather than my speakers.

I am running xp, not sure what sound card, hope someone can take time out to help

looked in my sound thing in control panel and it mentions something about MPU 401 compatible midi device, hope this helps!

I suggest uninstalling the drivers for your sound device and reinstall them. Also, you could try and remove it from the Device Manager.

What this SHOULD do, in theory, is force Windows to see NEW HARDWARE, your sound card, and install the appropriate drivers for them.
