I don't game at all. I could live with one of the many cheap agp cards I own now but just bought a dual 16x pci-e MB with no agp and was trying not to go pci video. A high end raid controller is going in one 16x pci-e slot and I am scarfing for a cheap... emphasis on CHEAP pci-e video card for the other pci-e slot.

As far as I can tell any pci-e card selling today is probably better then the best agp card I own right now (radeon 7500) I do NOT need a $200 or $400 video card in any way or form. If my porn looked anymore realistic I would have to shower 10 times a day.

So there are a variety of CHEAP... say it with me one more time CHEAP pci-e cards available from ATI and nvidia. Is there any known problems or incompatibilities or stuff to consider when making this choice?

motherboard is a DFI lanparty ultra if that is critical

Cheapest one I found on Pricewatch is a $61 (free shipping) ATI x300 128mb. Doesn't seem like a bad card for $61, either.

The top of the line NV cards run better on NF4 than the top of the line ATI.
In the realm where you and I live I can't see that it would matter.
The older ATI cards did have a rep for better 2D image quality than NV.

Hey, If I could find another R8000 I would take it.
