View Full Version : Just curious - Forum post levels

Hi Guys. I daresay this can be answered by one of the short-media admin guys or one of the mods but I was just wondering if there's a list of the forum rankings around anywhere please? I've done a quick search of the FAQ and some of the stickies but can't find it anywhere.
I know this isn't a competition for who can post the most and I don't treat it that way (or at least I HOPE I don't!) but being a very competetive guy and someone who is quite curius about things like this, I was just wondering what the levels are so I can see how I stand. :)
I presume there's a hidden post count somewhere (usually find they are listed but still ... ) which affects this. Can someone please point me in the right direction as to where I can find the list if it's up or can someone consider adding it somewhere for those who may be interested at any time please? :D
Thanks
Nick
PS Yes, just double-checked. There's room in the profile to change the username and post count. It's this "post count" I'd like to know more about as obviously in THIS forum (as opposed to others) you don't actually SEE the amount of posts people are writing but it's obviously there and the last bit (in this case the "Believer" bit) changes according to that count. I'm sure that makes sense now, doesn't it?

It's in your user profile.
I could have sworn I've seen it posted before, but it's lost to me now. Since most people change the subtitle to something custom anyways, it's not a very useful thing to know.

In my profile? Are you sure? I know you can change the name there which appears under your username and above your avatar but I meant the forum levels - eg at the moment I'm showing up as Short Media Believer. Before that I was Short Media something else. Obviously they go up the more you post, or so I believe. That's what I wanted to find out more about. Sorry if I wasn't very clear in my first post. Bit hard to explain, that's all. :)
There are no ranks. You get "Short-Media Believer" when you sign up, and you're free to change it right away.
And if you ever want to know who does post the most...just click on the link "Members List" on the top toolbar, then sort by the column "Posts"....
Or click here to get that same thing:

Dexter got it.
Your title does change according to post number unless you set it manually. I don't know what the actual levels are - they're only set because it's a default vBulletin thing.
The three "auto titles" I can think of right now are, in order:
Short-Media Convert
Short-Media Believer
Short-Media God
All this time and I didn't realize we had title ranks. How did I miss that???
:kneel:
I'm a god, and you should "Respect my authority".....
Sorry... that made me laugh. Me a god.... yeah right.... ;D

Thanks a lot for your input/insight guys. Much appreciated.
And cheers Matt/Dexter! Yes, convert and now Believer. I was starting to think I'd imagined it but I thought there were levels of some kind. Just not sure how many, which is why I asked. Think I'll have to change it in the fullness of time tho. Not sure I want to compete with the other one?! ;D

Hi. Just saw/realised I'd posted this in the wrong area. Sorry about that and thank you to whoever it was who moved it to a more appropriate area ... Matt? :-/

I seem to remember it was agreed there would be no post count because some see it as a competition. It leads to posting just to get the count up.

Nope. I got curious about that one day and checked it out. My 2500+ posts there are not included in my grand total. If they were, it would be
