Have any of you bought those FM transmitters for your iPod so that you can use them in a car? I'm looking at picking one up cause I've got some driving to do tomorrow and was just curious if anyone here had used them or knew someone who has.

Alright. Couple things. Do you really want it to be Apple branded? If not, you can get regular FM broadcasters for ~$20 that take the headphones signal. I'd hate to think what Apple charges for a fancy-shmancy one.
Also. Why not just get a tape adapter? It's easier than futzing with a broadcaster, and it'll always be way better quality than the FM signals (albeit they're very close... so they might be pretty decent).
Edit:
I guess the iPod-specific ones are pretty cheap anyway, or at least some brands. So nevermind that.
Oh, and here's the one I was thinking of but couldn't remember. Granted, it's at TigerDirect, so shipping will kill you, but you could probably find it elsewhere: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=442762&CatId=193

I'd definitely go tape adapter if you could. If you do get an FM adapter, get one with the largest amount of selectable frequencies you can find. I have one with 4, and all 4 are occupied with radio stations around here, so it's no good to me until I get out in the middle of nowhere (interference). There are probably a lot more radio stations around you than there are in northern New Mexico, too ;)

I don't get the tape adapter cause my car doesn't have a tape deck.
I found a really sweet one called the Airplay but no one sells it in stores around my house so I guess I won't be getting it before tomorrow.

FM adapters are great. Just make sure they are on the lowest frequency possible and you should be in good shape.

My bro-in-law has one on his iPizzod. Works great. We drove from OKC to Denver and only had to switch the frequency once. I think his is a Belkin, but I could be wrong.
