If you had $1,000 to spend on ONE modification or upgrade to your computer, what would you do?

Buy a 21 inch scratch and sniff monitor.

Ja, I can't think of any one item, other than a nice new monitor, that would cost as much as $1000, and still be worthwhile.

;D;D;D

Yeah, since we're limited to one upgrade only, it makes it harder. I think I'd mod mine with wheels, and an engine that runs on music only. Free ticket to... everywhere!

(Seriously though, probably a monitor like everyone else said. Can't upgrade CPU/video without doing the rest of the system, so yeah.)

I'd build a fully remote control robot case for my computer. ;)
Do i win the money? :)

Define ONE upgrade...you mean one part or one series of parts?

If it's not limited to just a single part I'd get a nice SLI mobo, a CPU and a pair of PCI-E 6800NU's and call it a day.

Yeah, I'd go AMD too although without really researching it to check prices I'd just say whatever fit the budget after the mobo and vid cards, as to the mobo I'd get the DFI nForce 4 Ultra and mod it to SLI and flash it with the SLI bios (if it'll work, depends on if they have the same components or not mainly) and find the cheapest pair of 6800's I could scrounge up.

First things first though, I'd get the $1000 in one dollars bills, take it home and roll naked on it then change it back in for hundreds :P

I'm thinking 150,000,000 resistors for my Dell p1110 that is too bright.
