View Full Version : Single shortcut, dual folding?

Is this possible? Basically, I want to double click ONE file, and have it launch two instances of F@H. I dunno why... less to click, less icons, etc. I assumed it needed to be a batch file, and I tried playing around with that. What I ran into was that if I told it to run the F@H exe, it literally did. It made itself that file, and started dropping Folding's config files and stuff on my desktop, almost like it was a fresh, new exe.
Is this even possible? I tried calling (or whatever it is) the shortcuts on my desktop, too, but that didn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Simple. Giime a screenshot of your services.msc window (start>run>services.msc) where the two services are listed, or you could just copy and paste the service names here. I'll make a batch file for ya. This is what I do on my computer, and it's just become a habit to close stop.bat when i'm about to play a game and start.bat when i'm done. :)

Oh... wait, I think you misunderstood. They aren't listed as services. I just run them when I need/want.
Or are you saying they should be services, and then started/stopped when needed?

yeah start and stop as needed ...only difference I can think is that it will run at boot automatically and will run when you're logged off if you leave it running.
If you want to prevent it from boot running or whatever for an extended period just disable it thru msconfig ...otherwise just start and stop if thru services.msc

I have mine running as services, and start and stop them as needed. If you don't want them running at startup you can always switch the service to manual instead of automatic. (Right-click the service and go to properties)
If they are run as services, you can use .bat files to easily start and stop the services, just by double-clicking it.

Hehe... I need to see the full name of both services. Could you expand the "Name" tab? ;D

Isn't that it up in the top left? That's why I didn't really think to do that :-/
Edit:
Oh duh. I missed the key word, there - "both" ;D. The second service is exactly the same, except for #1 it's "\F@H 1\" and for #2 it's "\F@H 2\" Sorry.

Good work, prof. But now everyone knows about my habits :( Although, I don't think the words "porn" and "bible music" generally belong in the same sentence ;D

...I don't think the words "porn" and "bible music" generally belong in the same sentence...
I wasn't familiar with the term until I came here, but bible music is 'net slang for pr0n. After a significant amount of research, I believe I have discovered why. (http://tijuanabibles.org/) (Careful - links at that site are not for the timid.) ;)
Sorry to goof up your thread - I just couldn't resist... :mullet:

Aha! Wow. I thought all the bible music jokes were just good-natured fun. Did not know it was actually porn. HAHA... those are... different... ;D
Anyway, yeah, I got the batch files working with infinite help from TheGr81. Thanks man :)
