Welcome to the "traded in my fuel hog for a fuel efficient vehicle club"

Any other members?

I went from a Nissan Pathfinder (14mpg) to a Toyota Matrix (26-30mpg) :woowoo:

I told you that Ford was a piece of crap before you purchased it, Gnome . . . but nope, don't listen to me. :) All kidding aside, I'd love more gas mileage too, that's my only gripe about the HEMI. Oh well, maybe if the '06 does have MDS I can trade, or even better, if the 4.7L has MDS I could trade for that . . . I'd lose the HEMI, but I don't really need the extra HP/Torque, I just like having it just in case.

I'm not a big Civic fan, but I won't dispute that they're well-built and get good gas mileage. Make sure to drop my the "post your ride" thread when you get a chance!

I went from an Explorer to an RX-7. An RX-7 doesn't get remarkable gas mileage, but it's definitely better than the Explorer. (and a hell of a lot more fun :D)

I got around 20 highway in the Explorer (4.0L V6), and now I'm getting about 26 highway in the RX-7 (1.3L 2-Rotor).

/me boos honda, goes to drive his Mazda.

Prolly a good choice though. I've never been a fan of people with trucks just to have trucks. I have a F-250 Diesel to pull my trailer but I doubt I'd ever buy a truck just to have one....

But if I did, it'd be a Ford ;D

You will actually get better fuel economy than what it is rated at depending on driving conditions/habits. have a 2001 civic that I've actually gotten 43mpg on the highway and it's only rated at 35-38. If you follow a tight maintenance schedule your car will run forever. congrats on your purchase and enjoy.

the trailer will be pulled by a 2002 ford explorer the owner of the business ( dad ) owns

Good move Gnome, I'm hopefully selling my VW Corrado's this summer & getting a Civic Type R.

Trading in a car with personality for a Civic? For shame. Sure, the type R is fast, but it's still a Civic! They're everywhere. I've only seen about three Corrados in my life.

Yeah I know what you're saying but they're a more common over here, although still fairly rare. Trouble is I don't have the money to keep them going & I need something more reliable & less maintanence. I'll sure miss the supercharged one though but Civic Type R has virtually everything I want & need.

How much would you be asking for your corrado? I really want one but can never find one.
