Hi
Im a student and working with ABB robotics programming. ABB use RAPID to control their robots, and i need to describe what kind of language this is.
When it was developed, who did it and where it can be used.....
Anyone out there who can help me?
Thanks a lot

Well, it's not exactly a widely deployed language - it seems as if it was purpose built specifically for ABB robots. I think you'd have to go right to ABB with all of those questions as it seems to be a proprietary product for their robots only.
I found all this information on this great website (http://www.google.com).

Isn't this supposed to be YOUR research project? (not trying to be crass)
But as prime pointed out it isn't hard to do with the power of the web.
Here is a link with a little more direction. (http://www.google.com/search?q=history+of+RAPID+for+robotic+control+&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official)
Don't forget to tell your instructor you got your direction from a truck diver. ;)
