in a way, politicians and used car sales<strike>men</strike> salesPEOPLE (we musn't be politically incorrect... ;D) aren't that different. Both have to sell something- in the case of the president, the last thing he sold that I can think of is the war in Iraq. I won't judge whether it was right or wrong to go to war, but I can say that he had to sell that war to the American people. He had to sell his tax cuts- everything he wants, he has to sell to the rest of us, or he won't have a job come november of 2004...

But getting back to the glib aspect, a sleazy salesperson can sell you junk (ask me about my old Opel...) by being a smooth talker. Almost anyone can sell quality goods - without being a clever speaker.

Getting back to the original post though, regardless of what you think of Bush as a President or a person, you do have to admit that some of the stuff he says is pretty damn funny.
