Sir Bothered, do you know the specs on that fan? I looked on the site you linked to and under specs all they had was the size no CFM, db rating, nothing. I just thought I'd ask as I'm a bit curious as to what it moves.

Sorry no, there was nothing with it but it is almost silent and does shift a fair amount of air.

i guess i shoulda looked here before posting my thread (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33098). But I'm looking for THE BEST (under $15 each) case fans. Maybe thermal controlled/speed controls or w/e is good, and I might add a fan speed controller in my drive bay. Any suggestions would be good- thanks

Mr. Pilotwings, there is no need to double post. Your inquiry is certainly appropriate, and I'm sure there are many members who will be happy to help you. I dumped your thread on the same topic to avoid redundancy.

You stated "best" case fans. What do you mean by "best". Most powerful, most quiet, least expensive, or best overall compromise of noise-power-price?

Lol, sorry for the thread resurrection. How accurate were the dba and cfm to you? Also, did they last very long?

just to let you know of an idea about the loudness of the fans:

I just installed 2 AeroCool X-Blaster 80mm fans (http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/aerocool-xblaster.html) in my comp. At 45.6db each, they are LOUD!!!!! These fans defffinitely are not quiet. So for you, wanting quiet fans, I would stay below 30db. A nice 20-25db fan would probably be just what you want.
