For those of you who haven't read this yet I thought it would be worth the post. I've convinced that this issue is affecting my waterblock.

Put a thin strip of clay along the waterblock where the pivot arm is and mount the waterblock, the pivot arm housing will leave an imprint in the clay after you dismount the block and you can use this as a guide to determine where you need to remove material in order to have the block sit flat.
