messenger service

I have a pop up thats been annoying me for ages now called :messenger service:, it keeps saying that i have critical errors on my comp and to get them of i must download regfix or something like that from a site. i dont think there genuine? and connot find any way to get rid. can anyone help, need a fix, its driving me nuts. thankyou.

Go to Start>Run...
Type "services.msc" (without the quotes)

On the right side of the window that comes up, find "Messenger". Right-click it, go to properties, stop the service then disable it. Done.
