Just weeks after releasing its latest operating system for mobiles, Windows Mobile 5.0, Microsoft has unveiled a security and messaging features top-up.

Among the changes the new feature pack will bring will be faster access to Outlook, remote device wiping abilities and certificate-based identity authentication.

Connect Anywhere (A Microsoft/Vodafone/HP mobility venture) also allowed you to do this.

The idea being that if your PDA or smartphone get stolen, next time the device attempts to sync for e-mail etc it will receive a "suicide pill" that wipes the device. Protects against sensitive information.

Damn good plan if you ask me: - Exchange SP2 and M5.0 are going to remove the need for 80% or the people out there to have a RIM or Synchrologic server installed in addition to their Exchange!
