I have just gotten off the phone to my wife and I have to vent a little steam, this seems like the best place to do it.
On Friday night my wife's cousin went out into town for a drink with her friends. At about 1.30am she had to leave because her mum was babysitting the children for her but her friends decided to stay on but they knew she would be ok getting a taxi because the taxi’s pull up right outside the club.
She went outside, walked up to the first taxi and asked if he was picking up. He asked if she had the money to which she replied yes and showed him. This is the part that I cannot believe. The taxi driver then proceeded to open the cab door, smashing her in the face with it. As she is falling to the ground the taxi driver then go’s and kicks her just to make sure. She hits the ground hard and is knocked unconscious.
Luckily for her the doormen (and woman) who are working outside the club rush to help her and go to grab the taxi driver who just about jumps in his cab and drives off. The female doormen then covered her with a jacket until the ambulance and the police arrived and took her to hospital where she spent the night. One of the doormen was able to get the number of the taxi driver so hopefully he will be caught.
What I cannot understand is how the HELL someone can do something like this and think that they can get away with it, It just baffles belief. These are meant to be people in a place of trust and one of them can do something like this. At least I know that a few things are certain.
1. He will loose his license as all cab drivers have to be licensed by Liverpool City Council.
2. Hopefully he will be looking at prison time as it was an unprovoked assault with lot of witnesses
Strange, Strange world :(
