Reuters (http://www.reuters.com) is reporting that Google is planning to offer an internet service similar to PayPal. Google's payment service is likely to allow users to pay for web purchases through Google and it's highly likely that Google Accounts, Gmail and Google Search will all play a big role in the intergration of such a payment feature.
For Google, based in Mountain View, Calif., a payment service could represent a significant expansion beyond online advertising, which generated 99 percent of its $3.2 billion in revenue last year, the Journal said. Online-payment providers typically take a commission on each transaction.
