Verizon Fios

Does anyone know anything about Verizon Fios (http://www22.verizon.com/fiosforhome/channels/fios/HighSpeedInternetForHome.asp)? My brother called verizon to get DSL but they told him it wasn't available. They said Fios was though. It looks like a good deal. Any thoughts??

FiOS = F*ing Outrageous Speed (10Mb/2Mb). Gaming pings are awesome. Service interruptions are supposed to be few and far between. www.dslreports.com has a forum dedicated to Fios in the verizon section.

They're deploying fibre in pittsburgh, but it's not coming anywhere near my house soon. So I have crappy dsl.

They're not making any plans whatsoever to come round out here, the middle of nowhere. I don't blame them, really, but damn. We rarely get even half of what we pay for with Charter, our digital cable looks HORRIBLE (worse than standard cable, infintely worse than DirecTV), and we get knocked offline almost daily for up to 10 minutes, sometimes hours.

I hate Charter. Ooooooh do I hate them. Get the FIOS, you won't regret it. Unbelievable speeds and you're still paying less than what we pay for sub-par speeds. :shakehead

i get around 4.2mbps so i loose about .8, but its still freakishly awesome.
i pay 35 bucks a month and get 5 down and 2 up
